What to do now?
Kent was impatient when would he get the ok? Betty sitting on the ground was alternating between crying and raging to be let go. He admired her spirit. Yes she would be a prize indeed.
The walkie talkie crackled: Green light, copy.
Kent answered: Copy.
Kent walked over to Betty.
Kent: Good news, I am letting you go,
Betty incredulously: Why are you letting me go? Was that walkie talkie message telling you to do so?
Kent bent down and caressed her face: I am truly sorry that I had to detain you, but I must say in spite of the circumstances I don't regret meeting you.
Betty pulled away: If you are going to let me go, do so. I just want to go back to camp. Betty had a more than sneaking suspicion that Abdullah was behind her abduction and fear entered her heart thinking of Zoe and Charmaine.
Kent untying her slowly still having more to say.
Kent; I want you to know Betty that if I could undo things I would, but not meeting you. I will be watching you.
With that Kent released the last knot holding her hands bound. Betty leaped up and ran off toward camp.
Kent stood there watching her and finished in his mind the sentence he hadn't uttered to her. I will be watching you, and when the time is right, I will come for you, and you will be mine.

Betty too worried to think about what Kent had said at the moment entered camp at a run. She looked around for Zoe and Charmaine. Were they alright?
Seeing her mother Betty stopped out of breath.
Betty huffing and puffing: Mother where are Zoe and Charmaine?
Elisia was upset at having to let her daughters go with Farid was silent.
Betty desperately: Mother! I need to know. Betty looking at Elisia's face realized that something was wrong.
Betty in her panic did something she never would have done ever as it was forbidden.
She shook her violently: MOTHER!
Slowly she realized that her mother knew that the girls weren't there and she had been the one who allowed them to leave.
Betty: What happened? Where are the girls? Please mother.
Elisia in a trance, realizing that she had done something really bad, but still not comprehending what, spoke as if in a trance: I- He - They -
Betty in a panic never seeing her mother in such a state spilled her questions out frantically: Mother, did someone come for the girls? Who was he? Did you recognize him? Where did they go? Please Mother you must tell me.
Elisia, the realization that Farid might not have actually come to take the girls to Anson after all screamed like a wounded animal in pain and started rocking back and forth. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. SIMALLAH FORGIVE ME! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Betty shrank back at the sound of the deep pain emanating from her mother. It was the most horrible scream she had ever heard in her life. It was a scream filled with pain, rage, and hopelessness.
Elisia crying and screaming in between her explanation: He - he told me he was from your honorable father. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE How was I to know?. What was I to do?
Betty trying to get the whole story: A man came for the twins? Is that right mother?
Elisia pleading with Betty like a child who knows they did wrong, but are seeking understanding: It wasn't my fault was it? I mean what could I have done? He tricked me!
Betty: Mother, you should have waited for me, or better yet honorable father!
Elisia upset didn't know how to react: Where were you daughter? You are just as much to blame. Your honorable father told you to stay in camp, and you disobeyed! It will not go well for you daughter when your father finds out! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Zoe and Charmiane forgive me! Betty they will be ok won't they?
Betty knew what was going to happen to them and her mother did too, but she couldn't accept the truth right now. Betty wondered what could be done. Now that Abdullah had them her honorable father's trip to the council meant nothing. He would be angry. She shuddered, wishing that her marriage to Waheed was already done, because then she wouldn't have to face her father!
Elisia grief stricken: I got to do something! I got to get them back! Simallah be with me! She turned to go after Farid who had been gone for quite a while, but she knew where Abdullah lived. She didn't know what she would do, but she would rescue her daughters, even if it meant her life!

Betty seeing her mother crazed with grief and wasn't thinking straight grabbed her. Elisia struggled. She was strong, but Betty helf onto her sari with all her might. She couldn't let her mother go. Her mother was fighting like a caged animal screaming.
Elisia: Let me go! Let me go! I have to get my babies back! I have to... Not able to break free,.Elisia broke into sobs. Oh forgive me simallah, forgive me for selling my daughters to that monster.
Betty felt impotent rage consume her. She didn't know how, but she vowed if Abdullah touched her sisters before marrying them she would make him pay with his life. She vowed this before simallah. Betty knew deep down there was nothing they could do to get her sisters back. There was only one thing she could do and that was comfort her grieving mother. She took Elisia in her arms and hugged her with all her might.
Betty was hurt as well, but her mother needed her too.
Betty reassuringly, the words sticking in her throat: It is ok mother! It isn't your fault. It is ok, everything will be alright! I promise you. She knew it wouldn't be, but she had to give her mother comfort and hope, because she had nothing else to give.
